One man shop. Take out only. Cash only.
A hidden little hole in the wall in sleepy Hilo, with the most affordable prices around. Up front is his mini hot plate quick service, while everything else he makes to order. The menu is all over the walls.
I come for his kimchi fried rice. I also will enjoy a musubi or curry from time to time. He does really exciting specials, too. And the side wall menu and snacks are fun to cycle through. Oh oh oh, he makes okonomiyaki! Actually I come here for that.
FYI for those who haunt it: Vegetarian lasagna only available on certain days. -

One of favorite lunch spots. The ginger dressing that comes with the salad is unbelievable good. I enjoy eating their Menchi Katsu, Vegetable Lasagna and Tofu Croquet. 2 choices cost 6.50 and 3 choices is 7.95 plus tax.

One of my favorite places to eat in Hilo. I don't eat out often because I cook my own food but if I'm out and I get hungry, this is my go to spot. They have some yummy vegan options that I crave. Their vegan lasagna (made with zucchini / eggplant instead of regular noodles) is bomb diggity. They have brown rice and two really yummy tofu / veggie dishes. Their food is consistently delicious and really affordable. They are open when they say they are open which is much appreciated. They don't have seating but you can always walk across the street with your food and sit at the picnic bench overlooking the ocean. Definitely try this place out!
